I have an in-ground pool, which with a sudden deluge of rain, collected debris and dirt from the surrounding garden, due to the slightly sloping lie of the land. The work and cost involved in cleaning up the mess occurred with regularity during the rainy season. The best possible solution was to build a retaining “dam wall”, in the form of coping bricks laid on top of the existing paving bricks, surrounding the pool edge.
It was important to me for the finished effect to be aesthetically pleasing, and not look like an add-on.
Vickie from SmartStone (sourcing the custom-made coping bricks) and installer Mike Wentzel from EasyEdge Paving, in collaboration, made my vision a reality.
Vickie and Mike offered sound expert advice on the brick type, colour (to match the existing paving) and size, including the all-important sealant to prevent cracking / corrosion. The finished effect is stunning and unique. The one downpour since the rainy season started, had no adverse effect on the pool, as all debris / dirt collected up against the 40mm-high barrier wall. A job well done and hugely effective, as intended, thanks to both Vickie, Mike, and their team.I would highly recommend SmartStone and EasyEdge Paving, to anyone with a problem similar to mine
